Heating System
Making sure your heater is working correctly before winter comes or it could be a cold winter.
Your heat is made by running coolant through the heater core. Looks like a small radiator thats inside your dashboard by blowing air past it into your vents. Your vents in the dashboard have to be working right to have heat blowing. A common problem is no vaccum to your vents when its stuck on defrost this could be your problem. Another is plugged heater core from corrosion build up and lack of cooling flushes. Usually have a technician back flush the heater core can correct this. But otherwise will need replaced. Can be expensive repair. A thermostat that is stuck open can lead to poor heating . Check level of coolant. Low coolant in engine due to a leak can cause poor heating as well. Does your blower motor blow weakly or noisy have it changed can make a difference too. If you have a cabin filter usually newer cars 05 and newer have them as a option. I seen the cabin filters so plugged that actually restricted flow through the vents usually change these filters 30,000 miles. They get dirty quick so need to see if you have them. Check repair manual to see also you car manual in glove box will tell you if you have one or not.
